I wish I had a mud room

When we bought our second home just over a year ago, one of the things on my list of wants was a mud room.
I wanted a space for the kids to be able to drop their backpacks, take off their shoes and hang their coats.

Well as The Rolling Stones say, "You Can't Always Get What You Want".

But a girl can still dream can't she?
So here are some of my favorite mud rooms.

fantastic mud room!
Shelter Interior Design
I love those barn doors and that amazing ceiling
mud room
The Zhush
check out the compass on the floor and the barrel ceilings
Mud room
The Houzz
probably my favorite!
I love all of the closed storage and the mix of dark wood and white
The light fixtures are amazing and the rolling ladder is to die for!
 A Charming Nest
A must see transformation of Ikea storage benches
Plus I'm a sucker for custom millwork
Mud room
House of Turquoise
I'm a sucker for a dutch door
mud room
Restoration Hardware
Check out those lights and the drawers that look like lockers but aren't lockers...killer!
mud room
Pottery Barn Kids
It's family central in this mud room
This just shows that you don't need a huge space to make an exceptional looking mud room
Do you have a mud room?
Do you want one?

Some of those are bigger than my whole home! No--REALLY! I live in a 5th wheel! When we decide that we have traveled enough, I really would like a mud room and you picked some really wonderful ones!

When my girls were small we had a mud room in our past house, to the left of the kitchen entrance; it was a big house, it had it all! Now, no kids and we have down sized to a not small apartment pent house, but no two floors anymore and we love it! Your mud room features are fabulous! I bet you can make one though, houses have that gift whereas apartments don't!
Hugs,
FABBY

Love all your mud room inspiration. I've never had a wonderful mud room, but would have loved one when my kids were little.
I'm your newest follower on GFC and Linky.

Oh I wish I had a mud room! I also wish I had another bedroom, a basement, a craft room, and that list goes on and on : ) haha! One day- we move around too much with the military right now. My friend back home has a mudroom...awesome! Found your blog from the blog hop at 36th Avenue!

After scrolling through these, Jon and I are thinking of knocking down our whole house and just living in a mud room! In the meantime, we're going to start a savings jar for the Restoration Hardware lockers. DROOOOOOL!
