I started this blog over three years ago and have gained a very loyal following of over 5000 regular readers. I have around 300,000 page views each month and nearly a million unique page views this year alone.
Yet I still consider myself a small blog.
I was always so excited in the beginning of my blog writing career when a big name blogger would feature one of my posts.
Heck, I still get excited!
I really do still feel like I write this blog for myself.
Occasionally my friends and family will mention that they read it too.
But I know there are thousands more that read my blog that aren't even related to me.
It's crazy!
What I have learned about blogging is that you can write the best content, or have the best new project but unless people are reading, you have nothing.
This fact was always really frustrating to me when I remained at a loyal following of just a few hundred readers.
I would have a new project that I thought would be the next thing to explode my blog to the next level.
I was joining every link up party around to no avail.
It was not an overnight thing for me.
It was a slow and steady process.
I've been a loyal reader to so many blogs that over time I have seen some become so much more successful than mine. I've watched many bloggers step away or quit posting because the time commitment to grow a blog has been too much. I've seen drama but most of all, I've seen community.
A community that is willing to come together to support one another.
Which is why I want to start offering guest blogging opportunities for small bloggers.
