I was recently contacted by Stylepilot to review their website and have one of their affiliates write a guest post. Since most of my readers are women, I know you can relate to sometimes needing help when it comes to dressing your man. My husband doesn't enjoy shopping but is still quite particular about what he wears. It never fails, usually before a trip or a more formal affair we scramble to find something appropriate for him to wear.
I spent some time at Stylepilot and found it very easy to navigate. You can put in your husbands style DNA and will receive a list of recommendations for clothing that would look good on your mans body type. This is one of the shirts that was recommended for my husband.
Cute right?
You can also select an event and browse outfit selections that way. We have a wedding that we are attending this weekend and this would be the perfect outfit.
When I was browsing it even had a check by it showing that it would be appropriate for my husbands style DNA.
Stylepilot is a lot of fun and I can see how it could come in handy when shopping for events, or even for birthday's and holidays.
Without further ado, let me introduce you to Robert who will be giving us all some helpful suggestions on how to dress out man for the colder months ahead.
How to Style Your Man This Winter
The summer is almost behind us and the darker days and nights of the winter will soon be with us. Thankfully the end of the warm season means your man can leave behind those awful Hawaiian shirts and floral shorts, and wear something a little more sophisticated, smart, and stylish.
Of course, we all know that most men need a little help when it comes to choosing their best styles, so we put together a quick list of garments and ideas for helping you to construct your man’s best outfits at the end of 2012.
Living in Colour
This year is the year when your man leaves behind the boring, dull clothes that he usually sports during the winter, and instead embraces colour to leave himself looking vibrant all throughout the season. The weather is likely to be miserable, but there is no need for your man’s individual sense of style to follow suit.
Instead, look to dress your man in reds, yellows and oranges - these are all traditional colours associated with the Fall, but go for brighter shades rather than the darker ones that are representative of the end of summer. If you want to go for darker colours, then contrast your bright choices with browns and greens. Never go all out towards the darker colours or you will be falling into the glum colour traps that are common in year-end fashion.
The Perfect Outfit
So having taken in all of our advice around using colour, how can you build the perfect outfit for the fall or the winter? We decided to start at the bottom and work upwards.
If the weather is cold without being wet or at risk of snowing, then go for a simple, relaxed pair of suede loafers on the feet. These are ideal in lighter tan colours, and will go excellently with the next garment, which is a pair of darker brown corduroy trousers.
With the bottom half taken care of, it is time to move onto the shirt. Go for a shirt with red checks that you could wear on both a casual and a formal basis, and match it up with a long, relaxed cable knit jumper. Think lazing around an open fire and you will get where this look is coming from.
For the jacket, go for either a bottle green blazer, or opt for a light brown mac. Both are widely available for the season and will leave your man looking smart, sexy, and sophisticated.
Construct your man’s style for Fall and Winter now, and ensure he does not get left trailing in the style stakes.
